Le porte Italia. Venetian painters. Sinopia.
Our collaborators on this project, which has become a masterpiece, were just as special.
Le Porte Italia was founded 30 years ago by Enrico Lenarduzzi who wanted to bring back to life the traditional Venetian history of handmade decoration.
Le Porte Italia artists have studies at the Academy of Arts in Venice and Florence, and their collaborations go as far as masters of Murano glass and ancient fabrics to meet any demand, from a single element created to complex projects such as Castello di Casole , Egerton Hotel, Ashford Castle, Gran Canale Property, Maison de la Mer, Palazzo Molin, Palazzo dell’Angelo and recently, the mural of Casa Timiș.
Most of their work is in the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal and recently the Middle East and India. You can also find them at Il Salone del Mobile in Milan – where we also discovered them – Maison d’Objets in Paris and Decorex in London.
Marco Mazzilli and Giuliano Amendola, the two Venetian artists who in a record time of two weeks made the 21 meters of the mural at Casa Timiș, used a technique made famous by Michelangelo in the Renaissance, SINOPIA, which represents the fresco stage that consists of drawing a preparatory sketch by creating small dots that follow the preliminary outline. After completing this step, the drawing is progressively covered with a layer of dust that will represent the starting point for the work done.
